No wonder dogs love Doggy Playcare at Leashes and Leads! We understand that not all playcare is a one size fits all! Which is why we have created plenty of options to find what best suits each dog (and human)!

We offer a playcare membership program in our all day playcare for those that know they want the same days each week. The rate is based upon how many days a week your dog comes. Being in the program means your days are guaranteed and there is no need to call to make reservations! Being a part of this playcare program gives you the same discounts as the boarding membership at no extra cost!

If your days will vary each week, you are welcome to attend all day playcare at the standard rate. These reservations need to be made in advance and are first come first serve. We offer a 10 day package with a 10% discount for our standard playcare.

All day playcare is not the right fit for every dog. Some dogs may need help self regulating and need breaks in between playtimes. This is why we have created our Structured Playcare option! Our structured playcare is supervised by our trainers and includes plenty of breaks as well as brain activities to tire them out mentally. Structured Playcare is only available Monday – Thursday at this time.

*We do sometimes have toys in our playcare groups, so please let us know if your dog has any possessive or resource guarding issues*

Included with the Membership:

  • Playcare members will be charged every Saturday for the following week at their rate.

  • Days are locked in so no need to worry if we are full or not.

  • If your dog is boarding on their scheduled Playcare days, they will receive All Day Play on those days.

  • $10 discount per night on all boarding stays.

  • No $33 late pick-up fee for boarding pick-ups after 12:00 pm.

  • Free early drop-off and late pick-up in our drive-thru (Monday-Friday only).

  • Free access to the indoor and outdoor dog park.

There will be no refunds for unused days

Frequently Asked Questions

Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about our Playcare services.

If your dog has a regular lunchtime meal or requires medications at noon, we can feed them or administer medications in a designated area within Playcare. Please be aware that we do not provide breakfast or supper during Playcare.

Drop Off time:

6:00 AM – 10:00 AM

Pick-up Times:

2:00 PM – 8:00 PM

You are able to pick up and drop off through the store during regular store hours. However, for the fastest service, we recommend using the drive-thru.

Our all-day Playcare truly means all day. If you drop off at 6:00 AM and pick up at 8:00 PM, your pup will enjoy playtime with friends throughout the day. Dogs determine their playtime, nap times, and socialization patterns, while our team monitors, encourages safe behaviors, and discourages unhealthy habits.

*Please note that if your pup displays disruptive behavioral habits toward the end of the day that may impact Playcare, they may be placed in a condo. We will notify pet parents in advance about this.

All pets visiting Leashes & Leads must provide proof of the following vaccinations: DHLPP (Distemper Combo), Rabies, and Bordetella (recommended every 6 months). While not required, we highly recommend that your dog receive a yearly influenza shot. To ensure a smooth reservation process, please provide your pet’s vaccination records before making your first reservation.

At Leashes & Leads, we prioritize the happiness and health of your dogs during their visits. To ensure this, we have a policy of keeping our intact (un-neutered) male guests who are 9 months and older separate from our other guests. In playcare we do not allow intact males who are 9 months or older to come, but when boarding we do allow a limited amount.

For the safety of all our Playcare dogs, a temperament test is mandatory for ALL first-time dogs joining Playcare. Additionally, please ensure that you have a profile with updated immunizations.

A temperament test involves one of our staff members taking your K-9 to interact with an employee dog to assess their behavior around other dogs and in the absence of their owner. Please call (507) 282-2710 to confirm the availability of a staff dog for the test.

If your dog has already passed the test, simply call us at 507-282-2710 to make reservations!

We offer a variety of add-ons and excursions to enhance your pet’s stay. Click the button below to access your portal and book exciting outings or tasty treats for your furry friend. Excursions can be booked 48 hours before your pet’s reservation.

Barky Bus is a great way to have your pup picked up or dropped off so you can get them the socialization they need without disrupting your day.

The Barky Bus leaves to pick up the dogs around 6:30 A.M. from your house and picks up the dogs from Playcare to bring them home around 3 P.M.
