This Non-profit was created to help people who have had a “Temporary Paws (Pause)” in their life that requires them to need a place for their dog or cat to stay for a bit. House fires, domestic violence; these are just a couple examples of where insurance doesn’t cover the full time it may take for a pet to board. With the communities help of donations; boarding stays, food, vet bills, etc. will be covered until pet parents are able to get back on their feet. Our goal is to help keep families together instead of them having to surrender their pets for adoption.
We are NOT a rescue. The pets in our care are brought to us with the intent of their owners coming back to get them. We understand there may be cases where things happen and plans change and we will work with our local animal rescues if it does.
If you need the help of Temporary Paws message their Facebook page and we will get you in touch with someone to see if you qualify. We appreciate your support!
How does my donation money benefit Temporary Paws?
All donations go towards the direct care of the animals that stay with us. Vet bills, food, and other expenses are covered by the donations we receive!
How long will you hold on to my pet?
We have a beginning contract of 30 days. If the owner keeps in contact, we will keep the pet in our care for longer. However, if the pet is declining in a boarding environment we may reach out to come up with a solution, as we want what is best for the dog! If we have no contact with the owner at all, the pet will be considered surrendered, and we will work with a local rescue to find them a new home.
My circumstances changed, now what?
You can come pick up your pet as soon as you are ready! If your circumstances change and you are no longer able to keep your pet, we will get you in touch with a local rescue to see if they are able to take the pet in and find them a new home. Our ultimate goal though is to keep animals with their owners!
How can I support Temporary Paws?
Right now we accept monetary donations, toys, food, and treats! Check back as we will eventually be looking for volunteers and fosters to help!
