Support Bather

Our Bathers support our team of groomers as needed. Bathers engage with our clients to define their bath service needs and then perform the services. The bather’s primary duties are to properly prepare, bathe and finish pets by using humane practices and minimizing pet stress. Safety is of upmost concern, regarding the care and handling of the animals as well as understanding dog behavior and stressors. This role also includes maintaining the salon, cleaning the wash tubs, filling shampoos, washing towels, and sweeping and mopping floors. The bathers work under the supervision of the Groomers and report to the Grooming Manager.

Job Summary

  • 1. Perform bath functions as requested by client and described on the groom card: a. Nail trim b. Tooth brushing c. Brush-out d. Bath
  • 2. Prepare dogs for bathing in accordance to procedures: a. Brush-out dog with proper tools b. Trim nails c. Clean ears
  • 3. Bathe dogs according to company protocol.
  • 4. Dry dogs completely: a. When time permits hand dry dogs completely b. Use High-Velocity dryers when available c. All grooming dogs must be completely dry and finished drying before returning to owners
  • 5. Finish dogs as described in procedures: a. All dogs should be finish brushed and combed.
  • 6. Keep bathing stations stocked with supplies, tools cleaned and ready for use.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous work experience demonstrating dependability.
  • Confidence in providing animal care.
  • MUST LOVE dogs.
  • Results and Detail Oriented.
  • Ability to manage dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperaments.
  • Ability to control dogs up to 150 pounds.
  • Self-motivated, independent worker.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Team-orientated personality works well with and respects others.
